Wingham Rowan's insight on a new kind of Job Market

Wingham Rowan explores the hidden corners of the labor market at TEDSalon London Fall 2012. In the last 20 years the market has changed, but did it change for everyone? Wingham believes that the market has only changed for organizations at the top of the economy. He says, "If you're a Wall Street trader, you now take it for granted that you sell your financial assets in a system of markets that identifies the most profitable opportunities for you in real time, executes on that in microseconds within the boundaries you've set. It analyzes supply and demand and pricing and tells you where your next wave of opportunities are coming from. It manages counterparty risk in incredibly sophisticated ways. It's all extremely low overhead. What have we gained at the bottom of the economy in terms of markets in the last 20 years? Basically classified adverts with a search facility."

Do you have a measurement plan for your Business? Get started with Google Analytics

Hello Everyone;

I had recently completed a training module on "Digital Analytics Fundamentals" by Google Analytics. It blew my mind when I came to discover the power of analytics to create a measurement plan for every business.

But before going any further, why do we need a measurement plan for a business?
Its very simple. Unless we measure the tactics of our business strategies based on some context, we shall never know in which direction our business is going. Google analytics makes measuring of these metrics very easy. Its power to collect and analyze data metrics in real time helps every business to define meaningful goals, targets & segments.

Having said that, now its time for us to know what is a metric & dimension?
In any analytics tool, we will find two types of data. The first will describe about the characteristics of your users, their sessions & actions. These are called dimensions.

The second type of data are metrics. These are the quantitative measurements of users, sessions & actions. Metrics are numbers.

Google Analytics explains the difference between metrics & dimensions and how they are used in reports, with great details in this video.

Please let us know how helpful was this information to you. We shall be posting more insights from Google Analytics very soon.

Lots of Love;

CoOP Story: How did I learn that VIDEO is the best Marketing Tool?

Hi Everyone;

Hope you had a wonderful summer. Let me share my Coop Story with you guys where I discovered a beautiful secret of marketing - The Power of VIDEOS

Here is my Coop Story:

"I joined my coop in a brand reseller firm located at Yorkville, Toronto, Ontario. At the time I joined, they were having an exciting time promoting their newest entry to their brand line HappyORNot , a Customer Satisfaction Survey Device.

Our marketing team was figuring out a way to market to the cold leads which has been sorted out by the CRM system Salesforce. After brainstorming, our marketing team decided to prepare a series of personalized videos (industry specific) to be embedded in the marketing campaigns. Along with my coop partner, I lead the team to conceptualize, design and develop the marketing video campaigns.

After these video campaigns were sent out, we analyzed the results and were amazed to figure out that the response rate were doubled within a short period of time. And it has been a proud moment for my team when our company were able to sign up Tim Horton's to pilot HappyORNot.

Please Click Here to view a Video which has been personalized for the Education Industry. You can also view the remaining ones in their YouTube channel."

RESOURCES
Here is a wonderful website, which helped me to  get amazing ideas about marketing video campaigns.

I welcome you to share your Coop / Internship Stories in the comments below...

Best Regards;
